On December 4, 2023, the specialized ground station company CONTEC announced a successful communication with Hanwha Systems' self-produced high-resolution Earth Observation satellite (Small SAR Satellite). CONTEC stated that this was the first time communication was achieved solely using domestic ground stations of Korean companies, without relying on foreign ground stations.
CONTEC supports communication with the Small SAR Satellite using both overseas ground stations located in South Africa, Australia, and Qatar, as well as domestic ground stations in Yongin (Hanwha Systems' own ground station) and Jeju.
